Matt — I’m sorry you did not like the article but rest assured that it’s content is derived from many conversations with CIO’s struggling with their data lakes. Hadoop is a great set of technology components! So are fuel injectors and suspension systems. But when we need transportation, we buy a car based on our transportation needs. We don’t buy the car’s bill of materials. We let that be assembled by the manufacturer. What we are saying here is like the car, we observe the need for IT to have application data platforms that may embed Hadoop but hide some of the flexibility and complexity of its underlying components. We believe there are certain components that are great to put together and enable companies to even modernize their existing applications. We have assembled it one way. We are sure there may be others putting those ingredients together in other ways. But nonetheless, we believe the ingredients are essential.
